The cachaça beyond the cachaça
CACHAÇA TOUR PARATY

ABOUT THE CACHAÇA TOUR PARATY
The Cachaça Tour Paraty is the first regular walking tour in Paraty focused on cachaça and gastronomy in the historic center.
Heritage listed by IPHAN in 1958 and by Unesco as mixed heritage in 2018, Paraty has always been known for the quality of its cachaça. The name Paraty was synonymous with good quality cachaça throughout Brazil.
After the opening of Rio-Santos in 1973 and with the growth of tourism, the city also established itself as a national gastronomic center.
Our goal is to bring the knowledge of cachaça beyond cachaça. Going through its entire history, from the arrival of sugar cane in Brazil to the cachaça that arrives in your glass.
There will be tastings along the route, we will show you the best way to enjoy it and also give you tips on the excellent restaurants in the city for all types of palates.
The objective is not to get drunk (but it will certainly end the tour more happy) as we don't want anyone to forget the tour the next day, but to enjoy the best of Paraty's flavors with a historic spice.
Taking the Cachaça Tour Paraty is seeing another story of our history, valuing our culture and the most Brazilian of drinks.

ABOUT US
Rafael Leporage, the guide
Carioca, graduated in geography at Universidade Federal Fluminense and with 16 years in the tourism market, has a long-standing passion for cachaça, from the time of the late cachaça bar in Lapa, Rio de Janeiro, to trips to Minas Gerais, Pernambuco and Bahia. The love is so much that even capoeira's nickname is “cachaça”, but that's history for another time.
"I've always had a passion for flavor and for the history of cachaça, and this only increased after I came to live in Paraty, one of the birthplaces of cachaça in Brazil, and now I want to share a little bit of what I know about this passion.”
